Outbuilding conversion, Kerne Bridge

Conversion of redundant outbuilding to workshop/office space in Kerne Bridge

Major stonework repairs were carried out to this old industrial building on the edge of the Forest of Dean. Windows, doorways and openings were strengthened as was the buttress and the gable ends. The entire building was re-pointed with lime mortar. A prefabricated steel frame was inserted internally to pick up the two floors and support the existing structure. A steel roof and guttering was fitted. Waney edged elm boards were use to cover redundant openings. N.B. some of the pointing and rendering is as yet unfinished.
