The end of the house was suffering from various leaks. I improved the lead flashings above the roof and removed the unnecessary stone work from around the top which seemed to be holding damp (see picture below). The failing cement mortar was raked out all the way down the gable end and re-pointed with lime. I also fitted a new pot and birdguard.
