Pointing repairs, Llangarron

The pointing was found to be in a very poor state with a combination of inappropriate cement pointing and general decay. This was causing damp to track through the wall. The lintels above the windows were badly fitted concrete. I removed the windows, replaced the lintels with oak, rebuilt the stone reveals and repointed with lime mortar.

The new pointing was carefully blended in to the old

 

The windows were removed and pushed back into the reveal to give better protection from the weather
